Proust Questionnaire: Robin

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
My family and friends at a beach house in the south of Spain. We’re drinking mojitos in the sunlight, sangria by the moonlight, and there will be lots of dancing and music. Oh, and potatoes

What is your greatest fear?

What is the trait you most deplore in others?

What is your greatest extravagance?
Living in New York City

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?

Which living person do you most despise?
I shall allow no man to belittle my soul by making me hate him. Booker T. Washington said that. I’ll stick with it.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
“Of course I’ll go! What time should I be ready?”

What do you dislike most about your appearance?
The stitches scar on the middle of my forehead. Though I’m glad Harry Potter and I have something in common. I also have a scar on my hip from running a race in elementary school. Okay, actually I was teaching elementary school, but the first phrasing makes it less embarrassing.

Who or what is the greatest love of your life?
Shyril Elise Beck

What is the quality you most like in a man?
It’s a three way tie between courage, loyalty and accountability

What is the quality you most like in a woman?
Another three way tie between courage, loyalty and selflessness

What is your most treasured possession?
I keep every letter that I’ve ever received. I have boxes full

What do you most value in your friends?
I love their zest for life. The closest people to me have a good time no matter where they go or who they’re with

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
The loss of a child

Where would you like to live?
Today-in NYC because the city never sleeps, in five years-abroad because I’m not done exploring, in ten years-Atlanta because that’s my home. Some places I love for a period, Atlanta I love forever

How would you like to die?
With the feeling that I did all I could with what I had. I’m not concerned with the details. I would, however, like for people to wear lots of color at my funeral and drink virgin mojitos or Arnold Palmers while watching a slideshow. Just don’t cry at my grave because those who live never really die do they? But enough about death, let’s talk about living.

What is your motto?
Everything in moderation. Except for love, there can never be too much of that

How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.-George Washington Carver
